EVM in Bengaluru only registering votes for Lotus: Congress leader Brijesh Kalappa

Congress spokesperson Brijesh Kalappa went on social media and shared a few posts claiming a malfunctioning inside polling booths.

"Something was tweeted, but that problem was never there. Claim factually wrong", Karnataka Chief polling officer said.

"There are five booths opposite my parents" apartment at RMV II stage (in the northern suburb).

Yesterday, the Election Commission deferred voting in Rajarajeswari Nagar constituency in Bengaluru over the discovery of almost 10,000 voter IDs at a flat. In the 2nd booth, any button pressed registers a vote ONLY to kiwi mele Kamala i.e Kamal ke phool. "Angry voters are returning without casting their vote", tweeted Congress spokesman Kalappa as Karnataka voted to elect a new assembly.

He added that his own vote was in the same booth and that INC will take up the issue with the Election Commission.

Kalappa tweeted he has received complaints of malfunctioning EVMs/VVPAT across the state including from Ramanagar, Chamarajpet, and Hebbal. The BJP has alleged that this is proof the Congress was attempting to manipulate the Karnataka election.
