Teen driver killed in crash on I-70

Authorities say a teenager was killed when her auto overturned and caught fire in northeast Kansas on Tuesday.

Lowe was pronounced dead at the scene and transported to Danner Funeral Home.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2016 Nissan Sentra driven by Mariah M. Lowe, 18, Abilene, was eastbound on Interstate 70 nine miles east of Abilene.

She then continued east, striking a concrete culvert, where the vehicle then overturned and caught fire, according to the Kansas Highway patrol.

The driver was the only person in the vehicle and was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
