Snap of Rajasthan minister urinating on Jaipur walls goes viral

Causing a major embarrassment to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his ambitious "Swachh Bharat" initiative, a minister of his own party has been clicked urinating in public.

A picture that has now gone viral is that of the Health Minister of Rajasthan, Kalicharan Saraf, urinating on a wall in Jaipur while his auto waits at the side of the road for him. Saraf, however, bounced it off by saying that it was "not a big issue". She said at a time when crores are being spent on the Swachh Bharat Mission, such leaders are sending out a wrong message to public.

Sharma also added that during Dholpur by-polls when they were going altogether, Saraf did the same act, urinating publicly, but she failed a take a picture of them because of "poll stress at that time".

The picture comes as the Jaipur Municipal Corporation is working hard to bring the city to the top of the charts under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

Criticising Kalicharan Saraf for his "shameful" act, Congress' Rajasthan unit Vice President Archana Sharma said the minister shouldn't have flouted the rules. Aldo let me point out that it is illegal to urinate on the roads and violation of the law can result in the payment of a fine of Rs 200. When the media reached his office, he refused to comment saying he doesn't want to talk about this topic as it is not a big issue.

The incident comes days after Kota BJP leader Ashok Choudhary wrote to BJP president Amit Shah, voicing dissatisfaction with the Vasundhara Raje government.
