Drake Surprises 63-Year-Old Maid With $10K Shopping Spree

Drake, born Aubrey Graham, kicked off his charitable streak on February 5 by giving SC student Destiny James a $50,000 check towards her tuition to the University of Miami's Frost School of Music.

Drake says he wanted to help Odalie Paret specifically after he read an article about Miami's growing inequality gap. The rapper was touched by the story of the Paret, who reportedly has a four-hour, two-bus commute to her job in order to support her five children.

Paret, who's been a housekeeper for the five-star hotel for nearly two decades, received a call from a woman informing her a massage had been arranged at the hotel's spa, along with dinner at StripSteak steakhouse.

After dinner, a vehicle was waiting to take Paret and a friend to Brickell City Centre, where they waited until the shopping center closed. "It made me happy".

Pittsburgh Steelers star Brown documented the act of kindness in a video posted on his Snapchat account, in which Drake is featured saying, "See what we're doing, man?"

She left with a $2,000 Valentino purse, four perfumes, a $6,000 18-karat gold and diamond necklace and an $800 pair of flats to wear to church. His recent trip to Miami landed a college student a $50K scholarship and high school students a $25K donation as well as promise to lace their high school up with OVO branded uniforms.

I thank him so much, ' Paret told the Herald on Tuesday.

He also treated a school basketball team to dinner and gave them all Nike LeBron James sneakers.

After the giving spree, he took to Instagram and gushed, "Last 3 days were the best I have had in a very long time...there's nothing like seeing people experience a joyful moment when you can tell they need it the most".

After working a 14-room cleaning day, Odelie Paret, 63, received a day she could only dream of.
