California sheriff's deputy deals with dicey suspect

This was an unusual police ride-along.

"Further investigation revealed the suspect was likely a San Antonio Spurs fan trying to intimidate us." the department's Facebook page posted. The deputy was heading to his work assignment at the Golden State Warriors game.

However, a little critter popped up on the windshield of a sheriff's deputy vehicle in Alameda County, California.

To remove the mouse from his patrol vehicle, the deputy used "de-escalation techniques".

The deputy even managed to snap a mugshot of the elusive bandit before he fled the scene.

The Alameda County sheriff's office tweeted a photo of the "suspect", who deputies say "was last seen on foot running to a hiding spot". The mouse was described as being 4 inches tall with gray and white fur.

"Thankfully, the Warriors won and Deputy Dennington got to the game on time", the sheriff said.
