Oklahoma faces Oklahoma State basketball

Oklahoma (9-10, 4-4 Big 12) fell to No. 24 Oklahoma State (14-4, 5-2 Big 12) in Norman Saturday, 70-67. The Sooners had beaten Oklahoma State 109-89 in Norman on January 3.

Oklahoma State took a 42-30 advantage into the locker room at halftime, courtesy of a three-pointer by the Cowboys' Kendall Smith at the buzzer.

The Cowboys sealed the victory in OT as Young missed a last second three-pointer. Oklahoma State scored 18 points off of 14 Oklahoma turnovers and 22 second-chance points. For Oklahoma, this is now their second loss in as many games to an unranked Big 12 opponent.

No. 12 Cincinnati 86, East Carolina 60: Jacob Evans and Kyle Washington each scored 17 points, and Gary Clark had 14 points and 14 rebounds, lifting the Bearcats (17-2, 6-0 AAC). It was her fifth 20-plus game of the season for the most points by an OU freshman since Aaryn Ellenberg in 2011.

No. 21 Tennessee 70, SC 63: Lamonte Turner matched his career high with 25 points, and the Volunteers (13-5, 4-3 SEC) pounded the ball inside to get past the Gamecocks (12-7, 3-4). No. 8 Texas Tech plays at Iowa State - which broke through with its first Big 12 win on Saturday over Baylor - while the Bears play at league-leading Kansas. He was able to collect easy points at the foul line, going 12-12 from the charity stripe, while also chipping in five rebounds and eight assists.

Freshman Shaina Pellington had a season-high 26 points with six rebounds and three assists for Oklahoma (9-10, 4-4).

No. 19 MI 86, IL 42: Katelynn Flaherty scored 27 points for the Wolverines (17-4, 6-2 Big Ten), who continued the best start in school history. Ariel Atkins of ninth-ranked Texas was named the player of the week on Monday after averaging 23.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 5.5 steals in games against and Kansas. The Cowboys still came away with a 83-81 overtime win over No. 4 Oklahoma despite a career-best day from Young.
