Texas establishes fundraising website for Andrew Jones

The University of Texas has been, the school announced Wednesday morning.

"We know Andrew's a fighter with a strong family and our thoughts, prayers and support are fully behind them", Texas athletic director Chris Del Conte said. "This is obviously a hard situation for our family, and we hope everyone will respect our privacy at this time". The former top-100 recruit from Irving, Texas, was averaging 13.5 points and 2.4 rebounds this season but played just 50 minutes in December and January as he was in and out of the lineup.

The University of Texas has created a donation website where fans can help star sophomore Andrew Jones and his family pay for leukemia treatment.

Leukemia is a cancer of the body's blood-forming tissues, including the bone marrow and the lymphatic system, according to the Mayo Clinic.

"I say to Andrew, along with his family and the Texas Men's Basketball program, you are in our prayers and we are here if you all need anything", Huggins wrote.

The Horned Frogs coach said the FBI investigation into fraud and bribery will lead to improvements in college basketball.
