English Premier League Report: Chelsea v Leicester City 13 January 2018

This is the first time in the club's history Chelsea have had three 0-0 results in a row, and their fourth consecutive draw across all competitions hints at a side missing the quality in the final third which they had shown in abundance earlier this season.

Antonio Conte blamed tiredness for Chelsea's lacklustre performance in their 0-0 draw with Leicester at Stamford Bridge. Leicester went down to 10 men when defender Ben Chilwell was booked twice in five minutes midway through the second half.

Leaders Manchester City have a 15-point advantage over both clubs.

Conte has also criticised United's spending, while Mourinho even mocked the Chelsea head coach for having a hair transplant.

"For sure, everyone is frustrated after another 0-0", said Conte.

Claude Puel welcomed Jamie Vardy back after two games out with a groin injury and the England striker, along with Riyad Mahrez, caused Chelsea no end of problems - his chasing of a long ball leading to returning captain Gary Cahill going off with a hamstring injury in the 33rd minute.

"I think in our games against the great teams, we have always had good situations and good possibilities - like against Manchester United and Tottenham".

"When you play every three days you have to make rotation".

"When I made a decision to put fresh energy on with Willian and Pedro, the game changed".

In the other Premier League games on Saturday, Crystal Palace edged past Burnley 1-0, thanks to a first half goal by Bakary Sako.

Leicester's relentless pressing made it hard for the Blues to create opportunities, even after they were reduced to 10 men following the second yellow card shown to Ben Chilwell.
