Dark Souls Remastered PS4 pre-order rumoured for May

Announced on today's Nintendo Direct Mini, Bandai Namco and FromSoftware are bringing its critically acclaimed title to the Nintendo Switch in the form of Dark Souls: Remastered.

Something to keep in mind is that FROMSOFT also joined in with Nintendo to develop games for the Switch, it's possible that the remaster may be making its way to Switch, which has been rumored quite the many times. Those who play the game on PlayStation 4 Pro, Xbox One X or PC will be able to take advantage of 4K resolution with 60fps. This studio will reportedly utilize Dark Souls 3 technology when upgrading the original game's lighting and effects. The company revealed that not only is a remastered version of Dark Souls in the works, but that it will actually be getting a release on Switch. Among the long list of announcements, the Dark Souls one was ever so stealthily slid in there.

The multiplayer functionality has been bolstered as well, allowing up to six players to join together in a single session for jolly cooperation, up from the maximum of three in the original.

Dark Souls Remastered is scheduled to launch on May 25, giving everyone a chance to return to the lands of Lordran as the Chosen Undead. Most people including myself were anxious about the software lineup for the Nintendo Switch come 2018, but it seems that Nintendo knows what it's doing and will do its level best to ensure that the Switch is stacked with a number of exclusives and 3rd party titles to keep Switch owners entertained for the entire year.
