Spurs' Kawhi Leonard (quad) out Friday, targeting Saturday debut

His postseason was cut short however thanks to an ankle injury that kept him out of some of San Antonio's second round series against the Rockets and sidelines him for nearly the entirety of the conference finals against the Warriors.

San Antonio Spurs forward Kawhi Leonard has been ruled out for Friday's game, but he is reportedly targeting Saturday's game for his return to the National Basketball Association hardwood.

Leonard is reportedly participating in a final workout Thursday before being reevaluated Friday, which is when the Spurs will decide if he travels with the team to Phoenix for Saturday's contest.

The wait for Kawhi Leonard's return may finally be coming to an end. The team will re-evaluate Leonard on Friday.

Leonard was a Kia Most Valuable Player finalist last season after averaging 25.5 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game while leading the Spurs to a 61-21 regular season record.
