Report: Zidane lines up Hazard deal as contract talks stall

Former Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien has admitted that he fears Eden Hazard could leave the Blues for Real Madrid.

And, despite pledging his immediate future to Chelsea, Hazard recently spoke of his admiration for Real Madrid and their boss.

The belgian's exploits have seen the London side climb to third place in the table after 15 games, though they find themselves 11 points off leaders Manchester City.

Hazard made his return to the Chelsea side as a substitute in a 2-1 win against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium last month.

And yesterday, Hazard told Onze Mundial: "It will be necessary to put the package so that Chelsea releases me?"

The Belgium international, in the wake of Neymar's €222m move from Barcelona to PSG, had stated he was worth €300m earlier this season.

Hazard has the opportunity frankly to be the best player in the history of Chelsea football club. Lampard and @rioferdy5 discuss Phil Foden - the youngest Englishman to play in the Champions League...

"If you ask me about these two players, I will be very happy when they can have this deal but this is the responsibility of the club to try to do this". There's a chance that Hazard throws a strop like Costa but these things need to be dealt with. Since Neymar and all that have signed for 100 million or 200 million.

Meanwhile the Daily Star reports that Thibaut Courtois may also be running down his Chelsea career and the goalkeeper "will not renew his contract at the club". He won't refuse to play for a full two years and then frankly who would want a player that out of shape and match fitness anyways.
