Padmavati row: Shatrughan Sinha slams Sanjay Leela Bhansali

A source told Deccan Chronicle that the Union information and broadcasting ministry has sought the help of the human resource development ministry to suggest names of eminent historians that are expected to be part of the Censor Board panel which will review the controversial content in Sanjay Leela Bhansali-directed Padmavati.

The actor also feels that it's not fair to judge a film without watching it. Not only that, they also await clearance certificate from Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

He said Bhansali promised that he will screen the film first to the members of Karni Sena but didn't keep his promise.

Sinha had earlier questioned PM Narendra Modi and megastar Amitabh Bachchan's silence over the "burning" issue of the film "Padmavati". "High time!" Shatrughan tweeted last month.

As per reports now, the makers are apparently waiting for the Gujarat elections (December 9 - 18, 2017) to come to an end.

The makers of Padmavati have put off the release of the film after a wave of protests from multiple Rajput groups and dire threats to lead actors Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and director Bhansali.
