Zoella apologises after tweets resurface of her making fun of gay men

Since their publication all four tweets have been deleted from Zoella's Twitter account where she boasts 11.8 million followers.

Seemingly responding to accusations of exploitation, Zoella said, "I don't want people to think that I'm sat at home counting 50 pounds every time someone buys a calendar thinking that it was was a conscious decision I made to rip people off".

Beauty YouTuber Zoella is facing major backlash from fans over the price of her new 12-day advent calendar, which is retailed at the price of £50.

The Lifestyle Advent Calendar listening states that it contains bauble, confetti, purse, candle 130g, cookie cutter x 2, jotter pad, key ring, pen, room spray 30ml, stickers and votive.

The lifestyle themed advent calendar features 12 windows filled with exclusive treats, including scented candles, accessories, stationery and baking tools. It is being sold at Boots and has so far received an overall rating of one and a half stars.

Zoella insists that she didn't decide the price point herself.

"We will be offering the product at half price during our Christmas promotion, where the calendar will be on sale for £25 from Thursday November 16".

"The Zoella lifestyle advent calendar is full of 12 exclusive treats which are all clearly listed on boots.com and can not be purchased separately".

But the Zoella 12 Days of Christmas advent calendar has caused a storm on social media and been branded "not worth it" and "tat" by reviewers.

A fourth offensive tweet refers to an unknown woman and says: '@camieee haha, it's like everyone feels sorry for her.

Adding: "That's completely out of my decision making". "I know there might be some of you that might not have know that. even my mum didn't realise that", she said.

"There's a lot of people who think I chose that price, and that I don't care, and that I'm doing it for the money and that makes me so sad because that's not who I am".
