Philippe Coutinho plan revealed to speed up Liverpool transfer

Ivan Rakitić could make the switch to Anfield as part of a deal that would see Philippe Coutinho go in the other direction, claim reports originating from Spain today.

The Croatian midfielder is not pleased at the prospect of playing second fiddle to the Brazilian and is considering his options with the player edging closer to a move to the La Liga giants.

Brazil World Cup victor Ronaldinho has backed Barcelona to complete the signing of his compatriot Philippe Coutinho and claims the Liverpool star will "perfectly suit" at Camp Nou.

"I would be very happy to see such a talented player wear the shirt I wore for so many years", Ronaldinho said of his compatriot Coutinho.

Liverpool insist Coutinho isn't for sale but sources on the KopTalk Members' website claim that the club have maintained dialogue with Barcelona since the summer transfer window closed.

"I believe the way he plays will perfectly suit Barcelona and I would be delighted to see a player of such quality wear the shirt".

On Coutinho, he further added: "I like the way Coutinho plays and the type of football he brings. Those types of qualities will also hopefully help Brazil win the next World Cup". He even handed in a transfer request in order to force a move away from Liverpool.

Ivan Rakitic could be on his way out of Barcelona if the club do manage to sign Liverpool playmaker Philippe Coutinho. "I think they'll have a good World Cup".
