Sadio Mane: Out for up to six weeks with injury

Mane, 25, was substituted in the 89th minute of a 2-0 World Cup qualifying win over Cape Verde on Saturday (Oct 7).

Mane was absent for two large spells last term due to his participation in the Africa Cup of Nations before a season-ending knee injury in the Merseyside derby in March.

The Senegalese forward has been Liverpool's finest player so far this season, netting three goals and claiming two assists, but faces six weeks on the sidelines after picking up a hamstring injury against Cape Verde during the global break.

And Liverpool have confirmed the Senegal star is set to be sidelined for up to six weeks.

Jamie Carragher has warned Jurgen Klopp that Liverpool could struggle without Sadio Mane.

Former Tottenham Hotspur and France forward David Ginola believes that Sadio Mane's absence for the clash with Manchester United on Saturday could be decisive.

Mane has scored three goals in four Premier League appearances this season.

Philippe Coutinho's return to the first-team setup after the transfer window closed saw midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum drop to the bench for Liverpool, with Klopp fielding a front three of Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah. His talents are vital to the team, and without him their chances of taking a good points haul from their games with United and Spurs are severely less.
