The University has sent out invites to more than 5000 former students including former Union Ministers Yashwant Sinha and Shatrughan Sinha and incumbent Central Ministers like Ram Vilas Paswan, J.P Nadda, Ashwini Choubey, Upendra Kushwaha and Ravi Shankar Prasad. "Many people earlier did not want to hear anything against Modi".

Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar is set to share the stage with PM Narendra Modi for the first time since his party Janata Dal (United) returned to the NDA fold when the PM visits the state on Saturday.

"Yashwant Sinha and Shatrughan Sinha will also be sent invites to attend the function".

Also RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav will also be present as he started his political career as a Student leader of Patna University.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has hailed the Centre's "very positive" approach towards development in Bihar and said it was providing assistance to the state by way of projects, particularly in the field of roads, energy and infrastructure.

Nearly all the top politicians, including Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, his deputy in the Cabinet Sushil Kumar Modi, RJD chief Lalu Prasad, senior bureaucrats and eminent academicians of Bihar have studied at the Patna University.

"I am a local MP but I have not yet received an invitation for the event", Patna Sahib MP Shatrughan Sinha said on Friday.
