Mexico face Chile, eye 1st win of WC

Mexico face a must win clash against down and out Chile when the teams meet in a Group F encounter of the Federation Internationale de Football Association U-17 World Cup here on Saturday.

Drawing (1-1) with Iraq and losing a closely-fought battle (2-3) against table-topper England, Mexico is in stage where it has to win by a big margin over Chile in a Group-F contest to be held here on Saturday, to keep its hopes of qualifying for the Round of 16 alive.

With four points, they should be one of the four best third place finishers to qualify for the knock-out round.

In that case, the Central American champions will collect four points and finish either second or third in the group depending on the outcome of the other Group F match against England and Iraq in Kolkata on Saturday. Diego Lainez scored two late goals after England had taken a 3-0 lead by the hour mark. With this loss, Chile, the last edition hosts, are virtually out of the tournament. They lost both the matches to England and Iraq.
