Matthew Stafford injured a hamstring and an ankle in last Sunday's 27-24 home loss to Carolina, but is likely to play this week. Detroit also did not sign another quarterback this week, meaning if Stafford were unable to play for some reason, Jake Rudock would be the only quarterback on the roster. Even if these players suit up, it will still be unclear on how effective they can be in this matchup.

The Lions will win if ... So maybe Detroit has discovered how to have success on the road.

He was limited to 10 games his first season because of shoulder and knee injuries. They then enjoyed Week 5 off.

For much of Payton's tenure in New Orleans, playing in the Superdome was a distinct advantage for the Saints. But the Saints drove 77 yards to a touchdown on the opening possession of the second half and tacked on 10 points from there, securing the cover as four-point favorites. Meanwhile, the New Orleans defense pitched its first shutout in five seasons. "They got guys that can get after the passer, so they've got what you need to have a good defense".

Just prior to that, the Saints picked up a big NFC South victory, 34-13 at Carolina. Last year, Stafford threw for 341 yards and two touchdowns at New Orleans. While the defense only ranks 29th, it has held its two most recent opponents to 186 and 288 total yards, respectively. Unless there is a major surprise, Stafford should make his 102nd consecutive start Sunday against the Saints - the fourth-longest active streak in the NFL.

They're 29th in that department this season, but their past couple of games have been better. The smart money here likes the Lions plus the points at online gambling sites.

The Saints will also have high drama in their seven remaining division games.

The total has gone over in three of the Lions' past four games against the Saints.

If the Saints are the team we saw in Weeks 1 and 2 then we're in serious trouble against Stafford.
