Jose Aldo added to UFC Fight Night card in December

Two-time Ultimate Fighting Championship featherweight titleholder Jose Aldo will rematch Ricardo Lamas in the UFC on Fox 26 co-main event on December 16 at the MTS Centre in Winnepig, Manitoba. Almost four years later, Aldo is coming off a unification title loss to Max Holloway and Lamas has won two straight bouts.

UFC on FOX 26 takes place inside the Bell MTS Place in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada on December 16.

Other high profile bout confirmed for the card include a welterweight slugfests between knockout artistsSantiago Ponzinibbio vs Mike Perry & Jordan Mein vs. Erick Silva as well as a light heavyweight fight between Misha Cirkunov vs. Glover Teixeira.

Aldo, 31, was long considered one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world.

The Brazilian reclaimed his title by defeating Frankie Edgar in July 2016 but failed to defend it against Holloway at UFC 212.

Since losing their initial scrap, Lamas (18-5), has struggled to put together anything more than a two fight win streak. Lamas faced Aldo in 2014, during the height of his run as the featherweight champ, and lost via decision.

The trio of new bouts for the Winnipeg card join the main event that was just announced on Thursday as former welterweight champion Robbie Lawler faces off with Rafael dos Anjos in the five round fight that will determine the next No. 1 contender at 170 pounds.
