Honeypreet Insan reveals astonishing facts in SIT interrogation

The Panchkula court was informed by the police that a mobile phone was recovered from Honeypreet Insan who was arrested last week.

Violence had erupted in Panchkula and Sirsa, the Dera headquarters, which claimed 41 lives-six died in Sirsa-and left almost 200 injured in the August 25 violence which broke out after Dera chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh's conviction.

On Friday, Honeypreet and Kaur were presented before the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Rohit Watts under tight security arrangements, after the completion of nine-day police remand.

Honeypreet, whose real name is Priyanka Taneja, was arrested by the Haryana Police on October 3 in connection with the deadly violence that had claimed 35 lives.

Honeypreet had remained fugitive for 38 days after she was booked by Haryana Police on charge of sedition.

Honeypreet and her aide, Sukhdeep Kaur, was produced in a local court that sent them to judicial custody Friday. Police now want to arrest Dera functionaries on the basis of the lead provided by Honeypreet Insan. Honeypreet's former husband Vishwas Gupta had alleged illicit relations between her and the sect chief. It further claimed that Honeypreet had posted a video of Panchkula violence from her mobile, which further nailed her role as a conspirator in the violence.

Ram Rahim has been sentenced to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of over Rs 30 lakh.

Panchkula (Har), Oct 13 (PTI) Dera Sacha Sauda chairperson Vipassana Insan was today grilled for several hours by a special investigating team of the Haryana Police here in connection with the violence which broke out following the sect head's conviction in a rape case. Police also believes that Honeypreet's laptop, which is likely to have important information about the conspiracy, is with Vipassana.
