De Gea will definitely join Real, claims Liverpool legend

De Gea still has two years remaining on his current deal and United have the option to extend for a further year.

UNITED are in no rush to hand David de Gea a mega-money pay hike following Real Madrid's decision to cool their interest.

Zinedine Zidane is happy with his No.1 goalkeeper Keylor Navas and the belief around Manchester is the La Liga champions will wait another year to re-ignite talks.

The 26-year-old has been wanted by the Spanish giants for the last two seasons, including during this window.

An Old Trafford insider told The Sun: "David still has two years left on his deal and we have the option to extend".

But Mourinho and United's hierarchy have chose to wait before trying to extend De Gea's deal.

"The club can now take its time and it doesn't need to be rushed".

De Gea played well and former Liverpool star Steve McManaman expects Real to eventually lure him away from Old Trafford.

It was assumed Real would make a bid for De Gea this summer in what has been a long-running transfer saga between United and Los Blancos.

'They'll end up taking him off Man United, whether it's next year, the year after.

The Red Devils stopper has been linked with a move to Real Madrid in recent months.

Because the Dream Team game - the UK's biggest fantasy football game - is back and better than ever this season.
