ASUS thinks its new premium laptops are 'the edge of beyond'

The unique 360° ErgoLift hinge has a dual-action mechanism that lifts and tilts the keyboard into comfortable typing position when the display is folded beyond 135°. It's called the ZenBook Flip S, and it's already catching a lot of eyes.

The specs are rounded out by a 39 WHr battery that's allegedly good for 11.5 hours of computing.

The ZenBook Flip S's 13.3in 4K touchscreen display can flip 360 degrees, while its specs-an Intel Core i7-7500U processor, up to 16GB of RAM, and a 1TB SSD-should ensure a fast performance. Pricing starts at $1,099, and it will be available in September.

At Asus's pre-Computex event, chairman Jonney Shih excitedly announced the Asus ZenBook Flip S - which he declared was the thinnest convertible laptop in the world. Being a flagship model, the laptop boasts an Nvidia GeForce GTX1050 Ti graphics card, Intel seventh-generation Corei7 processor, 1TB SSD storage and 16GB DDR4 RAM. This version has 14in display, 12.9mm thinness, the same processor as the Flip S, a Full HD display and two Thunderbolt 3 ports.

It doesn't take much to get the eccentric Shih excited, but it appears his enthusiasm is well placed, as from what we've seen the Asus ZenBook Flip S is set to be an incredibly well-built, powerful and desirable device.

While most are technology updates to the latest Intel 7th generation Kaby Lake processor they also reflect that processors far lower thermal dynamic load (TDL) and even better power management enabling precious millimetres to be shave off the thickness and grams of weight. The laptop sports an all-aluminum unibody that's just 18.9mm thin and 1.8 kilograms light. It comes with a 14 inch NanoEdge display, 7th Gen Intel Core i7 processor, upto 16 GB LPDDR3 RAM, 1 TB SSD, two USB Type C ports, and Windows 10 out of the box. Other highlights include a 15.6-inch 4K display, quad-speaker Harman Kardon surround-sound audio and 14 hours of battery life.

ASUS preloads Windows 10 on top of this ultraportable, and it has a fingerprint scanner for security.

The ZenBook 3 Deluxe is among the most powerful in the popular Zenbook 3 line. The display offers 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) with wide-view technology and a wide 100 per cent sRGB colour gamut. In order to keep this beast of a device cool, a dual-fan system has been introduced. It comes with Windows 10 and comes equipped with a fingerprint sensor for easy one-touch login with Windows Hello. The device features support for Asus Pen.

Another new VivoBook, which ASUS said is designed "for those constantly on the go", is the VivoBook S15. It is expected to start arriving in July in some markets with a starting price of $1,299.
