Woody Harrelson Quits Smoking Pot after 30 Years

Despite his recent decision to leave his joints at the door, Harrelson confessed that he still considers himself to be a "party animal", just an "extremely moderate" one. He says he's "extremely moderate" these days and hasn't smoked pot in nearly a year, explaining that he simply had "30 solid years of partying too fucking hard". But that hard-partying Woody is a thing of the past, apparently, according to a new interview with Vulture.

The move may come as a surprise for Harrelson, 55, who has a decades-long history supporting the legalization of marijuana and has even served on the advisory board of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws.

While in conversation with Vulture, the actor revealed that despite people's perception of him being seen as a little wild, and despite the fact that he tried to open a pot business in Hawaii a year ago, Harrelson hasn't gotten high in quite some time. "But I am a party animal", he said. "I think it's great", he said.

"Just 30 solid years of just partying too f****ing hard", Harrelson said. I think it's a great drug, in terms of... Or the ... what do you call it?...

Harrelson said he still thinks highly of marijuana, but he still wants to cut it out of his life. The effect of it is euphoria. He continued, "I mean, that might be one thing".

'But when you're doing it all the time, it just becomes... well, you know.

'Last night, someone had not just good herb, but sativa - really good sativa, ' he explained. "There's a joint, and beautifully rolled". "I feel like it was keeping me from being emotionally available". "I like a beautifully rolled ... and I just was like, I mean, I've gone this long", he said.
