Sensational murder iin Mohali, wife kills husband, cut body into pieces

A woman in Punjab's Mohali shot dead her husband, stashed his body in a suitcase, and then vanished from the place on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday.

As a result, police easily traced the BMW to Dhillon and found that the revolver used in the crime was registered in her name. We have sent police teams to nab the accused who will be arrested soon.

The deceased was identified as Ekam Dhillon, aged 40.

The victim is survived by two children. Their relations had become strained in the past few years.

The couple had moved to the house in Phase 3B1 of Mohali only 15 days earlier. A property dealer, Singh had also set up a stone- crushing unit recently.

The accused, after committing the gruesome act, stuffed the body in a suitcase and then hid the same in a BMW vehicle on Sunday.

They sought the help of an autorickshaw driver to carry the suitcase into the vehicle, police said. As they were doing so, the auto driver found blood trickling out of the suitcase on his fingers. The auto driver informed the police.

Before the police arrived on the scene, Seerat had fled as she apparently could not find the keys of the vehicle on time.

Ekam's father, Jaspal Singh Dhillon, refused to cremate the body after post-mortem examination on March 20, saying that because of Seerat's political influence, the Punjab Police officers were not dealing with the murder case properly.
