Joe Manganiello Now Sounds Unsure About 'The Batman' Future

Back when Ben Affleck was also planning to direct, his version of the script was set to introduce Joe Manganiello's Deathstroke as the main villain while J.K. Simmons would return to play Commissioner Gordon after introducing the character to the DCEU with a small appearance in Justice League later this year.

While promoting Smurfs, Pittsuburg Today Live questions Joe Manganiello about playing Deathstroke in the Batman movie.

The uncertainty was obvious and with an apparent script re-write supposed to be happening, you can see why. When Joe Manganiello was cast as Deathstroke last summer, he was as excited as us fans, which was evident in any interviews that the subject was mentioned. Since he said this days after the reports about massive rewrites, and since Reeves' arrival may further trigger a clean slate, the timing is suspicious at the least.

If they are starting completely over with The Batman, it could be a promising sign or an ominous one. If they're doing so to really take the time to get it right, and to make sure Reeves will have true creative control, it may well be worth it.
