First Vietnamese woman makes it to Forbes' 2017 billionaires list

Forbes released its list of the world's billionaires with Bill Gates remaining the world's richest man, worth US$86 billion (NZ$122 billion).

Gates, whose wealth -is estimated at USA $ 86 billion, led the list for the fourth straight year.

He was followed by Warrant Buffet, the chief of Berkshire Hathaway, whose wealth is around 75.6 billion dollars.

Forbes has tracked Trump's net worth since 1982 and a year ago he attained a personal high on the list with a ranking of 121.

The global billionaire population climbed almost 13 percent from 1810 to 2043 over the past year.

That's up almost 20 percent from a year ago when Goodnight's fortune stood at $8.4 billion.

There are more billionaires on the planet now than ever before, according to Forbes magazine's rich list for 2017. Amazon founder Jeff Bezos ($72.8B), European businessman Amancia Ortega ($71.3B), and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg ($56B) round out the top five.

Chaudhari, who made his debut in the Forbes billionaire list in 2013, saw his fortune increase by US$ 210 million a year ago.

He ranked No. 1,476 in last year's list. Alice Walton, son of Walmart founder Sam Walton, was rated 17th.

In Florida, there are 51 billionaires who claim residences in the state. Also new to the list is Japan's first self-made woman billionaire, Yoshiko Shinohara, who started a part-time staffing firm from her one-bedroom Tokyo apartment to help women get into the workforce.

His wealth grew a bit from 2016, when Forbes had his net worth at $1.2 billion.

SAS revenues, meanwhile, grew 1.2 percent to $3.2 billion in 2016.

The richest self-made woman on the list is Zhou Qunfei of China, who founded Shenzhen-listed Lens Technology, which makes glass covers for smartphones and counts Apple and Samsung as customers.

The US has the most billionaires with its 565, next comes China at 319, Germany is third with 114, and India with 101 takes fourth spot.
