Arrest made in death of teacher's aide

Worcester police have made an arrest in the February strangulation of a teacher's aide in her apartment.

Police say an investigation led to a suspect, a 55-year-old male.

A judge granted his attorney's motion that his face not be shown in court Monday.

The 49-year-old Hehir, a middle school instructional assistant, was found dead on her apartment floor another resident of her building. A neighbor called police. "Just the fact that I know her and have known her for so long I think, how could this have happened?" It was later determined she was strangled.

Police said the suspect is now being held at the Worcester County House of Corrections on unrelated charges. He was being held at the Worcester County House of Correction when he was charged with murder in this case.
