Boy George breaks silence on George Michael's 'devastating' death

Sarah Michelle Gellar made her own mistake on Twitter by tweeting about Boy George after the news of Michael's death.

He was also remembered for small acts of kindness: helping his village in North London get a Christmas tree, and volunteering at a homeless shelter.

To overcome the "painful" incident, Bowen dressed Michael in the LAPD uniform for his satirical Outside music video just six months later.

"I never told him (mainly because I thought I'd freak him out) but #georgemichael has always been such an influence on me".

The BBC cited Michael's publicist in announcing his death.

The last five years have been trying for George Michael, including a serious auto accident in 2013 and near-death brush with pneumonia in late 2011 which saw him in intensive care for three weeks.

Michael's previous history of drug addiction, allegedly with crack cocaine and marijuana, has been well-documented and he was reported to have entered a Swiss rehab facility in 2015.

The 53-year-old was beloved by millions across the globe.

In a statement, Mthethwa said he was "shocked" by the death of the legendary pop star and saluted him for partaking in the 1988 "Free Mandela Concert".

The songwriter and recording artist also explained how supportive his mother, Lesley Panayiotou, was of him, and how her death in 1997 affected him.

He praised the singer for making his sexual orientation known after he was arrested in 1998 for lewd behavior in a public toilet in Los Angeles. In a Facebook post, the organization said, "His donations contributed to a vision of a world where people living with HIV live healthy lives free from prejudice and discrimination".

Fadi Fawaz, a celebrity hair stylist, revealed that Michael, 53, died alone Sunday at his home in Goring, England.

Singer George Michael, who died on Christmas day, was as charitable as he was talented and supported dozens of causes.
